• The Cleveland Indians look to beat the host Houston Astros for the third straight day when their four-game series continues on Saturday afternoon. Francisco Lindor homered twice and drove in three runs on Friday as the Indians posted a 6-3 victory. Lindor, who has 101 career blasts, became the third-youngest shortstop (25 years, 163 days) in history to reach triple digits behind Alex Rodriguez (23 years, 16 days) and Cal Ripken Jr. (24 years, 356 days). “It’s a blessing, an honor and a privilege anytime you get mentioned around those guys,” Lindor said in a postgame television interview. “I’m just playing the game I love, doing whatever takes day in and day out, to help my team win.”

• The Astros have been held in check in the series, scoring just four runs, and have dropped six of their last nine games. Michael Brantley is 4-for-9 in the series against his former club to increase his hitting streak to 12 contests.

• Bieber is coming off his worst outing of the season as he gave up seven runs – five earned – and five hits over 2 1/3 innings in a loss to Atlanta. The 23-year-old had allowed just four runs and 11 hits over 21 frames entering the rough performance. Despite getting rocked, Bieber has an impressive 0.99 WHIP and is holding opposing batters to a .180 batting average.

• Peacock lost to Minnesota in his last outing, when he gave up three runs and six hits over five innings. The 31-year-old, who is making his fourth start of the season, is limiting opponents to a .205 average and sports a 1.05 WHIP. Peacock is 0-1 with a 3.27 ERA in five career appearances (two starts) against the Indians and has served up homers to Leonys Martin and Greg Allen.

• Indians 1B Carlos Santana was hitless in five at-bats on Friday and is 1-for-19 over his last five contests.

• Houston 1B Yuli Gurriel went 2-for-4 on Friday after going 0-for-16 over the previous four games.

• Cleveland OF Carlos Gonzalez, who topped 20 homers on six occasions while with Colorado, hit his first blast with his new team.
