Tommy LaStella, however, has been a lightning rod at the plate in obtaining at least one hit in each of his last six contests, including recording an additional two hits on five at bats along with an RBI in a 7-4 loss to Oakland in the final of their most recent three-game set. Furthermore, the third baseman is batting .313 on the year while also recording an impressive thirty-six RBI’s. Mike Trout has also caught fire lately posting eleven hits, four homers, along with eleven RBI’’s in an eight game stretch. Finally, Andrelton Simmons continues to sit out due to an ankle injury and is not expected to be back in the lineup unitl mid-July.

The Mariners’ pitching staff has certainly hit a wall in allowing seventy-four runs in the team’s last ten games. They are currently ranked 28th in the MLB in ERA at 5.28 while an OBP of 1.46 (good for 27th). Yet another reason for their struggles are their tendency for committing errors, as they reside in the cellar of the league with sixty-nine in 2019.

The Angels will find a way to come out with a much-needed victory in this contest versus a Mariners squad that has played shaky all season long. And with the Angels playing versus solid versus Seattle in their last meeting earlier in the month, look for that momentum to resonate in game two of this set as the Angels will edge the road team in the end.
