• The Colorado Rockies attempt to set a franchise record when they visit the Arizona Diamondbacks on Thursday afternoon for the finale of their three-game set. Colorado, which also is seeking an eighth straight win in the season series, is looking to record at least 12 hits in its seventh consecutive contest after posting a 6-4 triumph on Wednesday. Charlie Blackmon extended his hitting streak to nine games in the win by recording one of the Rockies’ 14 hits, but he fell one contest shy of matching the major-league record of six straight with three or more hits. Daniel Murphy belted a two-run homer and Ryan McMahon went 3-for-4 with three RBIs for Colorado, which also registered at least 12 hits in six consecutive games from July 1-7, 2010 and April 6-11, 1998.

• Ketel Marte collected three hits for the Diamondbacks, who have allowed 29 runs during their current three-game slide. Marte is riding streaks of four straight contests with multiple hits and three consecutive three-hit performances.

• Hoffman settled for a no-decision against San Diego on Friday after allowing one run and three hits over five innings. It was a huge improvement for the 26-year-old New Yorker, who surrendered 11 runs and 13 hits over 10 2/3 frames in his previous two outings – both road losses. Hoffman’s most recent victory came against Arizona on May 29 when he gave up three runs in five innings to improve to 1-2 with a 9.00 ERA in three starts and two relief appearances versus the Diamondbacks in his career.

• Ray struggled at Washington on Friday, surrendering five runs and five hits over six innings as he suffered his third loss in four turns. The 27-year-old Tennessean is 2-1 with a 3.46 ERA in five outings this season at home, where he has made just one of his last five starts. Ray is 4-5 with a 5.57 ERA in 14 career starts against the Rockies, including a 1-1 record and 4.36 ERA in two turns this year – both in Colorado.

• Rockies SS Trevor Story exited Wednesday’s game with an injury to his right hand, although X-rays were negative but he will have an MRI on Thursday and is not in the line-up for this game.

• Arizona OF David Peralta has gone 4-for-12 over his last three contests while recording an RBI in each game.

• Colorado has scored at least six runs in six consecutive contests and eight of its last nine.
