The line for this game is Arkansas by 1 point.

Mason Jones leads the SEC in scoring but has struggled lately with consistency, so Arkansas hopes its junior guard can carry Wednesday’s performance into Saturday’s visit to Georgia. Jones averages 21.1 points and scored 37 on 11-for-19 shooting from the field in Wednesday’s 86-69 victory over Tennessee – the second win in a row for the Razorbacks following a five-game losing streak – and four days after shooting just 2-for-9 in a victory over Missouri. Jones topped 30 points for the seventh time this season and surpassed 1,000 career points Wednesday, making amends for a 1-for-10 shooting, nine-point performance in a loss to Tennessee on Feb. 11. “Mason’s growth as a player has been really, really fun to be a part of and watch,” Arkansas coach Eric Musselman told the media postgame.

The Bulldogs narrowly missed a chance for their first three-game winning streak in conference play this season Wednesday, falling 94-90 in overtime at South Carolina as freshman guard Anthony Edwards scored 36 points on 11-for-22 shooting from the field. “We deserved to win the game, and so did South Carolina,” Georgia coach Tom Crean told reporters afterward.

Sophomore guard Isaiah Joe, who missed all five games of the Razorbacks losing streak due to knee surgery Feb. 4, has averaged 21.5 points on 38.9 percent shooting from 3-point range in two games since returning. Sophomore forward Ethan Henderson provided a big boost in his second career start, finishing with a career-best nine rebounds and matching a career-high with three blocked shots. The Razorbacks enter the weekend leading the nation in defending the 3-point shot at 25.4 percent.

Edwards shot 10-for-12 from the free-throw line and 4-for-11 from 3-point range Wednesday, and leads all freshmen in the nation in scoring at 19.5 points. Junior forward Rayshaun Hammonds narrowly missed a double-double with 13 points and nine rebounds before fouling out against South Carolina. The Bulldogs are last in the SEC in turnovers per game at 15.1, giving up 17 points off 14 turnovers Wednesday.

Edwards has scored 547 points this season, second-most by a freshman in Georgia history behind Jacky Dorsey (646 points in 1975).

Jones went 12-for-15 from the free-throw line Wednesday, and leads the nation in free throws made (198) and attempted (241).

The Razorbacks have won three in a row against Georgia and six of the past seven meetings.
