@ #19 Tennessee Volunteers (19-7)

The line for the game is Tennessee by 4 points.

For the struggling Gators, who couldn’t hold onto an 11-point lead with 13 minutes left in a 71-68 loss to Vanderbilt Saturday, the remaining schedule is brutal with contests against Tennessee, SEC-leader Auburn, Alabama and Kentucky, but they seem to come up big against the top schools, going 4-1 against conference teams that are .500 or better in league play compared with 4-5 against the six teams with sub-.500 records.

The Volunteers are likewise concerned heading down the stretch, showing some chinks in their armor in going 1-2 in their last three outings after an impressive six-game winning streak. Tennessee needs one more win to reach 20 in the regular season for the first time since 2009-10 (23) and it is 11-2 at home this season with two of its last four to be played in front of the hometown crowd.

The loss to Vanderbilt followed a disappointing trend as it was their ninth defeat when leading in the second half and their fifth after building a double-digit halftime lead. A big issue for the Gators of late is their lack of scoring punch as they are averaging just 64.1 points over the last six games and they shot just 42.9 percent in the loss to Vanderbilt while making 7 of 19 3-pointers, two less than their 9.0 per game. Sophomore forward Keith Stone led the way with 20 points — 15 in the first half — and six rebounds, while forward Egor Koulechov had 14 points, hitting 4-of-6 from long distance, and a team-high seven rebounds.

The Vols haven’t lost two in a row since the beginning of SEC play in early January but they will need better play from leading scorer Grant Williams (15.7 ppg), who had a season-low five points and shot only 1-for-8 in the loss to Georgia. Versatile junior Admiral Schofield tops the team in rebounding (6.1 rpg) and steals (29) and is second in scoring (12.2 ppg), while sophomore guard Lamonte Turner is the team’s third-leading scorer (10.7) despite not getting a single start, and he has come off the bench to hold or share the team lead in scoring eight times, including a 14-point effort against Georgia. Kyle Alexander comes off his second career double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds and he is on pace to finish the regular season with 54 blocks — the fifth-best single-season total in school history — after getting one against Georgia.

Florida has won five of the last six meetings with Tennessee but the teams have split their last two, with the home team winning each contest.
