• Coach Roy Williams recently asked standout freshman Cole Anthony to play more efficiently and the 6-3 guard has averaged 24 points on 23-of-39 from the field with 19 total assists during the winning streak. Anthony leads the team in scoring (20.2) and Brooks is averaging 24.6 points over the past five contests to boost his season mark to 16.4 on 54.4 percent shooting, to go along with a team-high 8.7 rebounds. Senior guard Brandon Robinson recorded 18 points, including 5-of-9 from behind the arc, in his final home game Tuesday and is third on the team in scoring (12.0).

• Guard Cassius Stanley stepped up with 18 points in Monday’s victory and averages 12.3 overall, third on the team behind fellow freshman Vernon Carey Jr. (17.6, team-high 8.7 rebounds) and Jones (16.1). Carey, a 6-10 center, shoots 57.7 percent from the field while Jones is averaging 18.7 points over the last three games and is second in the ACC in assists per contest (6.2). Matthew Hurt still averages 10.1 points overall – but just 3.5 in the last two – and fellow freshman forward Wendell Moore Jr., whose put-back won the first matchup with the Tar Heels, had 10 points and six boards Monday.

• North Carolina freshman F Armando Bacot (9.5 points, 8.1 rebounds) missed Tuesday’s game with an ankle injury and is questionable.
