Shizz Alston Jr. and Temple aim for a third straight victory Saturday when the team visits Tulsa in American Athletic Conference action. The Owls rolled over Connecticut their last time out and now will take on a Golden Hurricane team that has lost four of its last five. Alston has scored 47 points over the last two games, shooting 7-of-15 from 3-point range along the way, not to mention 18-of-19 foul shooting in those two outings. Nate Pierre-Louis added 17 points versus the Huskies as the Owls led 46-20 at the half en route to an 81-63 triumph. “The hoop was looking real big for us early,” Alston said. “A lot of different guys were scoring.”

Tulsa led by eight with under 11 minutes left against Wichita State on Saturday before things turned upside-down in a 79-68 defeat.

Alston (18.3 points) has made multiple 3-pointers in 14 of the last 15 games and needs one 3-pointer to match his career high of 71, set last season. Quinton Rose (16.9) has also improved his 3-point shooting of late, as he is shooting 50 percent from the arc over the last five games after opening the season 15-of-77 from long range. Pierre-Louis has registered double-digit points in 11 of the last 12 outings and enters this matchup with at least one steal in 10 straight games.

DaQuan Jeffries paces the Golden Hurricane in scoring (13.9) and rebounding (5.7), plus he chips in 1.5 assists, 1.2 blocks and 1.2 steals. Martins Igbanu (11.6 points) has attempted more than 10 shots in a game only once all season but is highly efficient with a 57.5 shooting percentage. Sterling Taplin (10.1 points) isn’t nearly as efficient with a 38.3 percent shooting mark, while Curran Scott shoots just 40.1 percent from the field but a crisp 41.3 percent from beyond the arc.

In the last four games, Pierre-Louis is 1-of-13 from 3-point range.

Tulsa G Darien Jackson is coming off one of his best games of the season, as he scored 10 points on 5-of-5 shooting against Wichita State.

Temple posted a one-point win over Tulsa during the 2017-18 regular season before losing the rematch at Tulsa by 18.
