• Konyaspor were held to a draw by Giresunspor last time out. This was the most subdued performance we have seen from Palut’s side so far this season. Giresunspor’s desire to earn their first point and fatigue surely played a role in Konyaspor’s relatively weak performance. At home, they are a very strong side that is very difficult to beat. They will not sit back, as against Trabzonspor that would be an invitation to danger, but will press aggressively, attempting to force Trabzonspor’s defence to make mistakes.

• Trabzonspor beat Kasimpasa 1-0 last time out. This was yet another masterpiece by Bakasetas, the Greek international who’s had a phenomenal start to the season. Avci is struggling with the “minimum three Turkish players must be on the pitch at all times” rule, as that means he has to leave out one of his very creative attacking midfielders, often Gervinho. They will control the game here, but Avci will be conscious of how dangerous their opponents can be when they counter.
