[2:35 PM] Arkansas v. Texas

Who will WIN this matchup?

Arkansas Razorbacks (8-1)

Texas Longhorns (5-4)

Arkansas took full advantage of its two-week home stint, winning every game by double digits – capped by a 91-76 victory over North Florida on Dec. 10. The Razorbacks had some trouble putting the Ospreys away early on, but used an 11-0 run early in the second half to cruise to their best nine-game start since 2010.

The Longhorns have won two of three, and rallied from 12 points down to upend Long Beach State 71-65 last time out.

Long scoring stretches have become the trademark of this Arkansas team, which has fashioned 11 runs of 10 straight points or more already this season; they’ve had multiple double-digit runs in five of their nine games. Senior guard Dusty Hannahs continues to be a force in a reserve role, coming off consecutive 17-point outings in wins over Houston and North Florida; he paces the team in scoring at 16.3 points per game and is shooting a blistering 92.9 percent from the free-throw line. Nigerian forward Moses Kingsley had 13 points and 10 rebounds against the Ospreys for his second double-double of 2016-17; he leads the team in rebounding (8.2) and blocked shots (2.9).

Sophomore guard Tevin Mack posted 18 points on 5-of-11 shooting in the win over Long Beach State, an identical stat line to the one he put up in a narrow loss to Michigan four days earlier. Mack (team-leading 15.0 points per game) has been the team’s most reliable 3-point shooter (42.2 percent) but is connecting on just 61.8 percent of his foul shots through his first eight games. Houston native Kerwin Roach Jr. (11.3) is the only other Texas player to average double figures in scoring; he finds himself in a dreadful shooting slump entering the weekend, having made just seven of his last 23 field-goal attempts and two of his last eight shots from beyond the arc.

Texas shoots a dismal 28.6 percent from 3-point range as a team, good for 338th in the nation.
