Leonardo Jardim will have to make do without defenders Benjamin Mendy and Jemerson when his side meet with Dijon on Tuesday. The former will be rested for several days, while the Brazilian must serve a short ban. This will see Andrea Raggi start at left-back once more, with Abdou Diallo perhaps starting alongside Kamil Glik in central defence. Almamy Touré could also be involved at the back should Djibril Sidibé get some rest.

Olivier Dall’Oglio may find himself with a shortage of defensive options against Monaco after both Cédric Varrault and Fouad Chafik were forced off through injury against Bordeaux last time out. Dijon may have to do away with their 3-5-2 formation due to a lack of options in defence, which will only add to the manager’s problems in the absence of midfielder Mehdi Abeid for this one. Florent Balmont and Marvin Martin are out for the rest of the week due to injury.

Dijon were minutes away from securing their first away win of the season before conceding two goals in the final few minutes to lose to Bordeaux last time out. They have been suspect at the back in the past month, conceding as many goals in their last three matches (7) as they had in their previous seven.

Leonardo Jardim’s Monaco showed no compassion to rivals Marseille as they comfortably beat their rivals 4-0 at the Stade Louis II over the weekend, moving only a point behind Nice before this round of fixtures in the process.

With or without their usual starting XI, the current best attack in Europe should prove too strong for promoted Dijon on Tuesday evening.
