• The 21-year-old Wilson earned a rotation spot with a strong spring, walking two with striking out 13 in 13 2/3 innings across five games. Wilson made one start in the majors last season, beating Pittsburgh 1-0 in his big-league debut on Aug. 20 with five scoreless innings. He made two relief appearances in September, giving up five runs on five hits in two innings.

• Philadelphia hopes the 26-year-old Pivetta can take the next step in his development, and a 3.31 ERA in four spring-training outings showed promise. Pivetta struggled mightily in the second half of last season, posting a 5.05 ERA while going 1-7 in his final 13 starts. He did pitch well against Atlanta in 2018, finishing 1-1 with a 3.12 ERA and a 1.192 WHIP in five starts.
