• A repeat of the meeting between these sides less than a fortnight ago, the 3-0 scoreline flattered Chelsea on the day and while both teams will be much changed, Villa will hope for some sort of revenge.

• Thomas Tuchel will be keen for his side to maintain their strong start to the season heading into an important week but his main priority will be to keep his key players fit ahead of clashes with Man City and Juventus.

• That said, the Blues strength in depth is enviable and while Villa have made strides of their own in that regard, an injury hit start to the season will likely leave them light of the quality needed to spring an upset.
